Church In Haliburton – Tuesday, November 28 at 6:30 pm  at Lighthouse Church, a time to chat.  All invited to participate.

Please join us on Sunday December 3rd for a joint service for the Pastoral Charge at Ingoldsby United Church gathering at 10 am for singing; service starting at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate the 1^st Sunday of Advent.  Communion will be served.  This will be an opportunity for all 3 churches to worship together and get to know one another a little better.  Lunch will be served after the service.

Join us Wednesday, December 13, 7:30 at Lochlin Church for our annual Old Fashioned Christmas Carol Sing Along. Music by Rev. Harry, John Menzies, and “friends”. Hot cider and Christmas goodies following. Donations for Food Banks gratefully accepted. Everyone welcome!

Light in the Darkness – A “Blue Christmas” Service for those experiencing grief and sorrow during the approach to Christmas Sunday Dec 3rd at 2:00 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Haliburton.

Ladies: You are invited to a Joyful Christmas in Carnarvon Wed. Dec 6 at 7 pm.  If you haven’t been it is quite an enjoyable evening.  You must go early to get a seat and bring a story, poem or short skit (as a group from Haliburton) that will have everyone laughing.  Donations for the food bank gratefully accepted.

Stewardship and Mission Offering:  The extra monthly Mission for December is 4Cs.  We thank you for your support and ask that you mark your envelope when giving to this extra mission.  Take note of the Stewardship and Mission bulletin board in the foyer.  Information will be posted as it becomes available.

• Tuesdays: Women to Women Bible Study in the library from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. All women are welcome to join us at any time. For info call the office 705-457-1891.
• Wednesday Morning Bible Study in the library 10 – 11:30 a.m.

Library: The library is open during office hours except when being used for meetings. The librarian is available Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon to help in choosing a book, DVD or teaching material (holidays excluded).

Coffee is available every Sunday before church in the foyer outside of the Fellowship Room.  All are welcome to partake and enjoy!

The Official Board of the Haliburton Pastoral Charge will meet on Tuesday, November 21 at Haliburton UC at 7 pm.   You will receive the minutes and agenda by email prior to the meeting.  If you do not have email a few copies will be sent to the church.  If you receive the minutes, you are a member of this board and are encouraged to come out and help make important decisions for the Pastoral Charge. Youth Unlimited 10th Anniversary Celebration: Come celebrate 10 years of ministry to the youth of the Haliburton Highlands November 25 at 7 pm at the Haliburton UC.  We will be sharing stories, celebrating the past and looking to the future. Stewardship and Mission committee meeting is rescheduled to Wednesday November 22nd at Haliburton United Church 10 a.m.  This is a change from the slated 15th of November meeting.

Time Change – remember to turn your clocks back 1 hour before bedtime on Saturday Nov 4!

The next scheduled Church In Haliburton event will take place at St. George’s Anglican church at 7pm on Wednesday, November 22nd.  For this “mostly music” service, St. George’s organist and choir director, Bill Gliddon, has invited any members of our churches or the wider community to join together as a massed choir. There will be three rehearsals at St. George’s on Thursdays – November 2nd, 9th and 16th from 7:30 to 8:15 pm.  Music will be provided.  Ability to read music is helpful but not necessary.  Just come and enjoy being in a choir.  Please plan to attend at least 2 or 3 of the rehearsals.  It would be helpful if you could let your pastor or church secretary know how many are planning to be in the choir, and they could let Jennifer know at St. George’s office (705 457 2074) by the end of October so adequate preparations can be made for seating and music. All are welcome to come and praise our Lord in music together.  – Bill Gliddon

Something Just for Dads!!! A time for dads or men who are filling a fathering role to meet together with other dads to talk, share and ask questions.
